Mentoring

Mentoring is a process that is relationship based and involves communication and dialogue where the Mentor helps the Mentoree with something they are working on to achieve a specific goal. Mentoring is a mutually beneficial relationship which involves a more experienced person helping a less experienced person to achieve their goals. A great Mentor can guide you with development for skills, behaviours, feelings and education. Typically mentoring involves all four aspects to end up at the Mentoree goal as defined in the mentoring process.
As mentoring is relationship based, a level of responsibility and accountability is crucial for both parties. This can be fun! We provide high quality training for all Mentorees so they can exceed in their interaction with their Mentor. To get the best out of mentoring your Mentor will ask supportive and precision questions at times in service of you to enable you to reach your goals.

What do I need to understand as a Mentoree?

  • Mentoring is relationship based where you get to know your Mentor and be yourself. Help build trust
  • Develop a growth mindset – Show initiative, be enthusiastic, be open and curious
  • Get clear about what you want help with – set and agree on some goals for the mentoring process and for each session.

  • Explore ways to make mentoring valuable for everyone involved – offer insights, bring intel and decision criteria, make mentoring fun and rewarding
  • Seek and provide feedback – check in regularly with your Mentor
