So most of us do not know how. What about you? What do you need to know and understand about it and what do you need to be able to do in order to receive feedback effectively? Are you ready to step up to a new level of development and receive feedback like a professional coach? Is your &#8220;receiving feedback&#8221; well formed and ready to go? What state or states do you need to be in to most effectively receive feedback?<br \/>\nReceiving feedback effectively is a <em>great leadership skill<\/em> to help you transform your thinking and behaving into more productive ways of being in the world.<br \/>\nAmong the key skills required to effectively receive feedback are the following:<br \/>\n\u2022 listening in an open way to receive the feedback.<br \/>\n\u2022 exploring in a curious and non-defensive way to the feedback.<br \/>\n\u2022 distinguishing language that is evaluative and that which is sensory based.<br \/>\n\u2022 asking for examples.<br \/>\n\u2022 asking about positive intention.<br \/>\n\u2022 except words as the other person&#8217;s perception.<br \/>\n\u2022 patiently persisting to translate the feedback so that it fits the criteria of well formed high-quality feedback.<\/p>\n<h2>The Design In Receiving Feedback More Effectively<\/h2>\n<p>To be completely open to another person in receiving from him or her explicit and implicit message so that you feel safe to be open, honourable, to disagree, to correct the person and to fully express him or herself.<\/p>\n<h2>Operational Definition In Receiving Feedback Effectively<\/h2>\n<p>hear&#8217;s the words, sees the actions and gestures, and calibrates to the other persons state, notices and tracks the details of how the other person is coming across in presenting him or herself, considers or reflects on those responses when presented with verbal feedback, questions about it, and users what you find useful in order to improve your communication, facilitating skills and presentation.
